Litter bins and rubbish
Pursuant to Environment Code, you are not allowed to litter in a place that the public has access to or view of. This rule is directed at everyone who litters, even land and property owners, regardless of whether it is in nature or in built-up areas. In other words, it also applies to your own plot.
To make Lidingö a cleaner island, there are 29 dispensers of dog-waste bags situated around the island. The bags are free and made from corn starch, which means that they are biodegradable and will be broken down in nature if they end up there. The stations are called Tikspac stations, financed by advertising and mounted on existing poles. We hope that this service will encourage dog owners to pick up after their dogs better and that the bags will end up in one of the litter bins placed around the city.
