Development and planning

The Environment and Urban Planning Committee and the Municipal Executive Board are responsible for the physical planning of Lidingö, that is, how the land and water in Lidingö are to be used. They look after our mutual living environment, how it will be developed, changed and maintained.

City planning

In Lidingö, the Environment and Urban Planning Department is responsible for city planning. Regardless of whether the planning involves an entirely new area or changes to the old, the Department´s job is to take into account the interests of both the public and the individual.
The broad aspects of Lidingö´s development and future are covered in a comprehensive plan that includes the entire municipality. There are also detailed plans that control what can be built, how it can be built and for what purposes.
