Garden waste
At the compost station in Södergarn, you can drop off garden waste (branches, twigs, leaves, cut grass and so on) free of charge. You can also compost garden waste in your own garden. No special permission is required.
You can also sign up for garden waste collection. Then you are provided with a special container that is emptied every other week during the growing season.
Garden waste may be burned only in exceptional cases. No other waste may ever be burned. On Lidingö, garden waste can be burned only during two periods: 1—30 April and 1—31 October. Then you can burn dry, woody garden waste, provided that you do not disturb your neighbours. All other times of the year, it is forbidden to burn garden waste.
