Compulsory school
There are 18 compulsory schools in Lidingö that pupils can choose among.
School selection for pre-school or the first school year is done in the city´s online tool, Dexter. This is also the process for the sixth school year. Schools are normally selected in January and February.
The Education Act states that pupils are entitled to a spot at a nearby school. Pupils may live near several schools, and in this case, consideration is given to where all the children live in relation to the selected school. Additional selection criteria include which school the pupil´s siblings attend and other special reasons.
When someone moves to Lidingö or transfers from another school, they are offered a spot at the school they applied to if there is space.
